Ugoos Amlogic AM1, AM2 firmware update version 0.0.7 + Android TV updates
Here are some details about changes in 0.0.7 firmware and 0.0.7 TV Extension versions:
BLE peripheral mode.
This mode for Android is part of the Bluetooth Low Energy profile. Earlier Android could use BLE-enabled devices, but only as a primary device. Peripheral Mode should allow apps on TV Box to send data to other devices. In this way BLE Peripheral Mode Allows One Android Device To Function As A Health Monitor For Another. We already implemented this feature for our RK3368 brand devices in latest release.
Daydream improvements:
Now you can activate sleep timer for different actions like sleep, hibernation or shutdown.
Run: Settings – Screen – Daydream
OTA update improvements.
In this release, we made a rework of our OTA system. Security bug, which didn’t let your device start updating now fixed. Problems with updates when device was rooted or fireasy function enabled.
Android TV Extension updates.
We turned back AOSP keyboard, because it is more convenient
Since that update, you can use your phone connected via Android TV Remote Control for voice commands and recognition search requests.
Run: Ugoos Settings -> System -> Voice Input Source
Now OTA update will be separate for two firmware versions. If you want to try Android TV extension or get back to standard firmware, you need to reflash your device manually.

It is great that Ugoos is staying on top of things and continuing to issue firmware updates. The "fix" of the home button killing apps is long overdue. Sadly, I see no mention of long overdue fixes for SD card issues. I cannot use any card > 16G in the slot. It just hoses up the device by installing and booting. It also seems that as my 16G card nears being full that things go wrong as well. This is sad because 32 and 64G SD cards are plentiful and cheap. And they are supported on all sorts of other Android devices. My old Minix Neo X5 supported 32G cards no problem out of the box. And that was maybe 4-5 years ago? So why a modern box cannot do this is silly and sad.
